Neshaminy Wins SOL Showdown with Pennridge

(Varsity 6-4 Overall; 6-4 SOL National)
Langhorne, Pa. -- It was gut-check time at Maple Point Middle School on April 21 as Neshaminy sprinted out to a 2-0 lead in its match against second-place Pennridge. But the visitors came back to win the next two games before the Skins battled back for a 15-11 win in the decisive fifth game.

Neshaminy looked to be in total control in game five, racing to an 11-5 lead, but Pennridge cut the deficit to two on a couple of occasions. Two critical service errors spelled doom for Pennridge, and the Skins were able to get to that magic 15 number.

The win avenged a season-opening loss at Pennridge back on the last day of March and, more importantly, put Neshaminy in position to move into second place in the SOL National. The Skins travel to Truman on Wednesday for another SOL National match and then have a very strong North Penn squad headed to Maple Point Middle School on Thursday.

This Saturday, the team travels to Quakertown for an all-day tournament. The host school is the top team in the Suburban One American Division.
